The National Grain Supply Company (SABIL) in cooperation with NEOM has completed the discharge of its first wheat vessel at Port of NEOM, located in the northwest of the Kingdom, carrying 66,000 tons of wheat cargo. The milestone reflects the company’s strategy to diversify logistics gateways and enhance supply chain efficiency, increasing operational flexibility and expanding access to target markets and regions.
This step forms part of SABIL’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with relevant stakeholders and leverage Saudi Arabia’s strategic ports, contributing to more resilient supply chains and supporting the sustainable flow of grain across the Kingdom, particularly amid the ongoing developments in the region.
SABIL noted that utilizing Port of NEOM will accelerate the delivery of shipments to its northern branches, including Tabuk, Al Jouf, Hail, and Al Qassim, enhancing distribution efficiency and improving service levels for beneficiaries.
The company added that this initiative is an extension of its ongoing efforts to advance the grain supply system through effective partnerships and advanced logistics solutions, strengthening supply chain reliability and supporting Saudi Arabia’s food security objectives.
Port of NEOM, strategically located on the Red Sea, plays an important role in advancing Saudi Arabia's logistics infrastructure and enhancing regional trade connectivity. The port is being developed as an integrated logistics hub, providing direct connections across three continents through a network of ports, roads, and maritime and land trade corridors. It also supports local and regional logistics integration through cargo handling services, inland trucking, short-sea shipping, and multimodal transport solutions extending across the Kingdom, the GCC, and the wider Middle East..
